Salóme Hollanders is a designer and visual artist based in Reykjavík. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in product design from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2022 and now works in a variety of mediums such as product design, installation, sculpture, computer generative art through programming, and painting. In the process of her work, she challenges herself both as a designer and as an artist and uses the in-between spaces created when the worlds of fine arts and design collide. Salóme often works with opposites such as geometry, systems, and numbers in collaboration with unpredictable and organic forms. She explores and challenges materials in an environment or context that may seem unnatural for them, hence the unknown. Alongside her creative projects, Salóme works as a teacher and workshop manager for the design department at the Icelandic University of the Arts as well taking part in running the creative space altént studio.
